Cleeve School is an academy school and Leadership Partner School. It was formerly a comprehensive school and is located in the village of Bishop's Cleeve, Gloucestershire, England. Acting Headteacher Alwyn Jones (now replaced with new principal, Alwyn Richards) leads the senior management team at the approximately 1,600-pupil school. The school offers GCSEs for ages 11 to 16, and A-Levels/BTECs for students wishing to go to the sixth form at ages 16 to 18. Notorious murderer, Rose West, is a former pupil of the school.

Contents

Cleeve School was the first secondary school in the South West to achieve the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) Challenge Award for excellent provision for able, gifted and talented pupils.

Sports and activities

The school runs activities for the students including self-defence lessons and afterschool clubs such as football, rugby and cricket. The school's astronomy club acquired a refractor telescope which was donated by the Society for Popular Astronomy as part of the Telescopes For Schools project.

Every summer, the school has a Sports Day for each of the five houses – Cotswold, Mendip, Malvern, Brecon and Chiltern. However, this house system has recently been changed to a college system, dividing segments of the school.

Buildings

Construction of the new building for the science, IT and music departments was completed in 2008. The old science block has also been restored.
