Early Life
Claudia Gonzalez was born on July 4th, 1969 in Cali, Colombia.
She originally went to college to study architecture but discovered her love for acting while attending several workshops between classes. On the advice of her teachers, Gonzalez went to Bogotá to study acting at Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramático (ENAD).
After five years at ENAD, she received her theatrical training degree and began working on small roles for television. Her earliest acting credit was her role as Daniela Reyes in the 1994 telenovela Café con aroma de Mujer, which translates to “Women-Scented Coffee”.

Career Highlights
When asked about what her role in Pocholo meant to her, Gonzalez stressed the importance of being able to authentically depict the life and realities of someone in the disabled community, both physically and emotionally.
She said, “Paying tribute to disabled people and their families is a great responsibility, to bring my character as close as possible to the realities they may be experiencing”.
The actress’ most memorable roles were Marco Aurelio’s wife in the movie adaptation of Love in the Time of Cholera (2007) and Azucena Lievano in the series Pablo Escobar, The Drug Lord (2012).
Personal Life
On November 24, 1996, Gonzalez welcomed her son Martin Saldarriaga, who later grew up to be a Catholic songwriter. Her second child, Mariana Saldarriaga, was born on April 9th, 2000 and is currently a seventh-semester architecture student.
