Ciyos Guran Orimi (Persian: کیوس گوران‎‎: Kiyous Gourān) commonly known as with his pen name Ciyos (born May 28, 1937, in Orim, Savadkuh County, Mazandaran, Iran ) is an Iranian poet, author, singer and journalist from Mazandarani-Zoroastrian descent. He is founder of critical-social poem of Mazandarani Language, in the Now time. Ciyos's father was a critic of Pahlavi Dynasty in Mazandaran province of Iran. His father in his child life, was a political prisoner.

He was traveled to city of Tehran, after he was graduated from high school and for giving a medical certificate, he got a test, but he hadn't been succeeded at that exam. Then the government banned him from education and said that he couldn't able to resume his study in Iran. therefore he went to Netherlands , but after a while, government announced that Dutch university's certificate is not approved . afterwards Ciyos Guran backed to his home in Iran.

He started his journalistic works with an economical newspaper, and then he went to "Tehran Journal", an English language newspaper of Ettelaat. after a while "Mohtaram-Ali khan" ( Pahlavi's censorship administrator) banned his writings in newspapers. also after a while, when he forced to leave his education and job, he went to South of Iran, in a Self-Exile.

He now writes poem in Persian and Mazandarani language and until now he made three albums called "Mazeron", "Mazeron 2", "Chel Sal Asheghi".

Ciyos Guran resumes his contributing with native journals and writes main title of some magazines while his poem writing.

Childhood and education

Ciyos Guran Orimi was born in the date of May 28, 1938 in "Orim" village of Savadkuh, a county in Northern Iran . the name "Ciyos" is a Mazandarani name, named after from Persian name of king Qubad of Sassanian Empire and Sardar Xerxes who is an ancestor of Bavand Dynasty of Tabarestan (historic Mazandaran).
