City Engineering College also better known as CEC was started in 2001 by the Jayanagar Education Society. The college is located next to Gokulam Apartments, Pipe Line Road, Vasanthapura, off Kanakapura Road, approximately 13 km from Majestic, Bangalore.

This college is the sister project of AMC Engineering College.
The College has started Civil Engineering branch recently from 2011-12 academic year.
Students of CEC have got ranks both in B.E and M.B.A. The College has a placement cell and is headed by Prof. Deepak. N. R and his assistant Savitha. Placement training is managed by Triumphant Institute of Management Education[TIME] and Indian Institute of Training and Management.

The Principal of the college is Dr. Bharateesh. T. P with HOD of Civil department Mr. Mahesh Kumar. M. C. with HOD of CSE department Mr. Manjunath R and the ISE department headed by Nandish. A. C. The Mechanical and Electronics departments is headed by Prof T. R. Uma and Mr Mallikarjun respectively. Dr. Rajshekhar, HOD of Chemistry Dept., looks after Student Activities in College and is a favorite among students of CEC. The Physics Dept. is headed by Dr. K Sujatha , having more than 20 years of experience, The Mathes Dept. is headed by Prof Jyothi. P .
Student activities
The events are planned, organized and managed by the students themselves under supervision of Student Counsellers- from fund collecting drives to the final events. These include blood donation camps, cloth donation drives, and events conducted by the National Service Scheme (NSS) section of CEC.
Students publish the annual magazine Eternal Enigma.
The college conducts annual Sports Events, Technical symposiums, Cultural Activities, Photography and Art Contests including platform for Fashion Show.
The intra-college events are organized by the students' activity clubs. The clubs hold debates, organises plays, all kind of fun activities including technical and general quizzes.

Access by bus
There are direct transportation to City engineering college by Bus. (Before having a seat on Bus ask the conductor whether this bus will go to your desired location or not and be sure about the alphabets appearing on bus plate or display with the alphabets given below, if it same as below even though you ask conductor, as it is safe otherwise here in karnataka there are 10-20 buses of same number but with different alphabets in front.)
From Majestic: Go to Platform no 11 at Majestic bus stand and take bus number 210R and ask conductor for ticket upto PIPE LINE ROAD or ISRO LAYOUT. if you leave bus at pipeline road it'll take 5 min by walk to reach college or if you left bus at ISRO LAYOUT it will take 10 min by walk to reach. From Majestic: Platform no 11, take bus number 210A, 210AA its last stop is ISRO LAYOUT, and from isro layout it will take 10 min to reach the college, if you find it difficult to reach ask any person he/she will guide you throughout.
From K R Market or City Market: Buses are 211, 212, 213 ,214,216 with almost any alphabet and left the bus either at "DODDAKALASANDRA" or next stop to Doddakalasandra that is "GUBALALA GATE" and ask any person for further guidance. from both the places it will take 5–10 minutes to reach the college.
From Banashankari: Buses are 211,212,213,214,216 same as the bus numbers from KR Market and leave at the same stop as above. From Electronic City, Bannerghatta Road, Gottegere: Take the bus number 378 (there are lots of 378's is in 5 min almost) and leave at PIPELINE ROAD and from here 5 min by walk.
From Kengeri, RNSIT, Uttarahalli: Take bus number 378 and leave at PIPELINE ROAD and from here 5 min by walk to college. From Yeshvantpur: 263H, 250Z, 90E, 82 to Majestic bus stand and go to platform number 11 and take 210R,210A,210AA, and leave bus at ISRO LAYOUT and now travel 10 min by walk to reach the college.
or from Yeshvanthpur take bus number 401K and come to Kengeri Bus stop and now take 378 bus number and leave the bus at pipeline road, if you are new then don't hesitate to ask the people for any help or guidance.
