Ciro Michele Esposito (1912, Grottaglie – 1994, Grottaglie) was n professor, designer and Italian ceramist, historical founder of the ceramics school of Santo Stefano di Camastra.

Biography

Prominent person in the world of Italian ceramics of 900,Ciro Michele Esposito born in Grottaglie, he is celebrating a ceramic studies at the Art School of his city, perfecting his training in Faenza, where he studied under Gaetano Ballardini.

Immediately after his studies began working in ceramics factories in Grottaglie, experimenting with chemicals, oxides and designing and producing Art objects.

In 1936 he met Mor Korach, with which formed a deep friendship.

In the early forties he was appointed director of the Ceramic School of Santo Stefano di Camastra, in the province of Messina, which under his direction became the most important university of professional training with regard to the field of ceramic art in Italy, together with the Institute of ceramic art in Faenza.

Some pottery made by Ciro Esposito and bearing the mark of manufacturing are now held in the collections of the Educational Museum of Ceramic Art Institute attached.
