It has a population of 113,716. Like many of Java's cities, Cinere has a large multi-racial population as a result of long-term transmigration from West Java and Banten, that began in the late 1960s. The city is also called the Gotham of Indonesia. Cirendeu Pondok Cabe is served by Pondok Cabe Airport, although the airport doesn't handle commercial flights.

Pondok Cabe is a district north of the city of Tangerang Selatan in Ciputat province, approximately 15 kilometers south of Jakarta.
