Aristides Aquino

Aristides Aquino Núñez (born April 22, 1994) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

Aquino signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent in January 2011. He made his professional debut that year with the Dominican Summer League Reds and also spent 2012 playing with them. He played Arizona League Reds and Billings Mustangs in 2013, Billings in 2014 and Billings and Dayton Dragons in 2015. In 2016, he played for the Daytona Tortugas and was named the Florida State League Player of the Year. The Reds added him to their 40-man roster after the season.

  • Barrett Astin

    Barrett Astin (born October 22, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Astin attended Forrest City High School in Forrest City, Arkansas and played college baseball at the University of Arkansas. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. On September 10, 2014 the Brewers traded Astin and Kevin Shackelford to the Cincinnati Reds to complete and earlier trade for Jonathan Broxton.

    The Reds added Astin to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.

    Alessandre Blandino (born November 6, 1992) is an American baseball infielder in the Cincinnati Reds organization. He played college baseball at Stanford. He was drafted by the Reds in the first round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.

    Blandino was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 38th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft out of St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California. He did not sign and attended Stanford University. He played for the Cardinal From 2012 to 2014, hitting .292/.372/.504 with 27 home runs in 157 games.

    Blandino was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.

    He has played for the Nicaragua national baseball team.

  • Luis Castillo

    Luis Miguel Castillo (born December 12, 1992) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Castillo signed with the San Francisco Giants as an international free agent in December 2011. On December 20, 2014, Castillo along with Kendry Flores were traded to the Miami Marlins for Casey McGehee.

    On July 29, 2016, the Marlins traded Castillo along with Jarred Cosart, Josh Naylor and Carter Capps to the San Diego Padres for Andrew Cashner, Colin Rea and Tayron Guerrero. He was returned to Marlins after Rea suffered an injury in his first start and was returned to the Padres. The Marlins added him to their 40-man roster after the season.

    On January 19, 2017, the Marlins traded Castillo, Austin Brice, and Isaiah White to the Cincinnati Reds for Dan Straily.

    William Theron Davis (born April 29, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Davis attended Dixon High School in Holly Ridge, North Carolina. As a 15-year-old in early 2009, he committed to play college baseball at East Carolina University. Davis was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 14th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. He signed with the Yankees instead of attending East Carolina. He made his professional debut in 2012 with the Gulf Coast Yankees. In 2013, he pitched for the Staten Island Yankees and Charleston RiverDogs and spent 2014 with Charleston. He started 2015 with the Tampa Yankees. The Yankees added him to their 40-man roster after the season.

    On December 28, 2015, Davis was traded to the Reds with Caleb Cotham, Tony Renda, and Eric Jagielo in exchange for Aroldis Chapman.

    Brandon Allen Dixon (born January 29, 1992) is an American professional baseball second baseman for the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Dixon was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

    On December 16, 2015, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds (with José Peraza and Scott Schebler) in a three team trade that sent Frankie Montas, Micah Johnson and Trayce Thompson to the Dodgers and Todd Frazier to the Chicago White Sox.

  • Juan Duran

    Juan Albert Duran (born September 2, 1991) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    He signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent in February 2008 for a $2 million bonus.

    Duran played for the Bakersfield Blaze of the Class A-Advanced California League in 2013. He hit three home runs on his 22nd birthday. In 111 games in 2013, he batted .251 with 20 home runs and 66 RBIs. He added 55 runs, 15 doubles, and three triples. The Reds added Duran to their 40-man roster after the 2013 season. He was placed on the minor league disabled list on August 21, 2014, after suffering multiple injuries as a result of a hit by pitch. Duran joined the Arizona League Reds in June 2015, and was assigned to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on July 1. He spent the rest of the season at the Double A level, hitting .256 with six homers and 43 RBIs in 59 appearances. The Reds placed him on the restricted list on February 5, 2016 as he had tested positive for three separate anabolic steroids. On July 3, 2016 Duran was outrighted to AA Pensacola

  • Gabriel Guerrero

    Gabriel "Gabby" Guerrero Martinez (born December 11, 1993) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Guerrero signed with the Seattle Mariners as an international free agent on February 10, 2011. He made his professional debut that season for the Dominican Summer League Mariners. Guerrero returned to the DSL Mariners in 2012 and also played for the Arizona League Mariners. In 68 games, he hit .349/.393/.593 with 15 home runs. Playing for the Clinton LumberKings in 2013 he hit .271 with a 661 on-base plus slugging (OPS) and four home runs. Guerrero played the 2014 season with the High Desert Mavericks. In July he played in the All-Star Futures Game. He finished the season playing in 131 games, hitting .307 with 18 home runs. On June 3, 2015, Guerrero was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in a 6 player trade with the Seattle Mariners. The Diamondbacks added him to their 40-man roster after the season. Guerrero was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks in November 2016.

    On November 28, 2016, Guerrero was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds organization. He was non-tendered on December 2, and signed to a minor league contract on December 4.

    His uncles, Vladimir Guerrero and Wilton Guerrero, played in Major League Baseball. His cousin, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., is a third baseman in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

  • Ismael Guillon

    Ismael Jose Guillon Carache (born February 13, 1992) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    The Cincinnati Reds signed Guillon as an international free agent in November 2008, giving Guillon a $625,000 signing bonus. They added Guillon to their 40-man roster after the 2012 season. He was designated for assignment on February 7, 2015.

    Jimmy Matthew Herget (born September 9, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Herget attended Jefferson High School in Tampa, Florida and was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 40th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign with the Braves and played college baseball at the University of South Florida. After his junior year, Herget was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 22nd round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He made his professional debut with the Billings Mustangs. In 2016, he played for the Daytona Tortugas.

    Johnson played college baseball at St. Edward's University. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the sixth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft. On August 20, 2015, Johnson was traded by the Giants to the Cincinnati Reds for Marlon Byrd. After the season, the Reds added him to their 40-man roster.     Shedric Bernard Long (born August 22, 1995) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Long attended Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Alabama. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 12th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his professional debut that year with the Arizona League Reds and played 2014 with the Billings Mustangs. After starting his professional career as a catcher, Long was converted into a second baseman in 2015. He played 2015 with the Dayton Dragons and started 2016 with Dayton before being promoted to the Daytona Tortugas during the season.

    Tyler F. Mahle (born September 29, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Mahle attended Westminster High School in Westminster, California. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the seventh round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He signed with the Reds and made his professional debut with the Arizona League Reds. He spent 2014 with the Billings Mustangs and 2015 with the Dayton Dragons.

    His brother, Greg Mahle, plays in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization.

  • Seth Mejias-Brean

    Seth Wayne Mejias-Brean (born April 5, 1991) is a professional baseball third baseman for the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Mejias-Brean attended the University of Arizona, where he played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team and was a member of the national champion 2012 Arizona Wildcats baseball team. He was selected by the Reds in the eighth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.

    In 2012, he was named a Pioneer League post-season All-Star. He was rated as the 17th-best prospect in the Reds organization prior to the 2013 season.

    Keury Mella (born August 2, 1993) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Mella signed with the San Francisco Giants as an international free agent in 2011. He made his professional debut in 2012 with the Dominican Summer League Giants. He spent 2013 with Arizona League Giants and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and 2014 with the Augusta GreenJackets.

    On July 30, 2015, Mella and Adam Duvall were traded to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for Mike Leake. The Reds added him to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.

    Salvatore J. Romano (born October 12, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Romano was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 23rd round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft out of Southington High School in Southington, Connecticut. He signed with the Reds and made his professional debut in 2012 with the Billings Mustangs. He spent 2013 and 2014 with the Dayton Dragons.     Kevin Russell Shackelford (born April 7, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Shackelford attended Marshall University, where he played college baseball for the Marshall Thundering Herd. He played as a catcher for his first two seasons at Marshall before becoming a pitcher. The Milwaukee Brewers selected Shackelford in the 21st round of the 2010 MLB Draft.

    Playing for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Class A Midwest League in 2012, the Timber Rattlers won the Midwest League championship. In 2013, the Brewers assigned Shackelford to the Arizona Fall League, where he was a member of the championship-winning Surprise Saguaros. After the 2013 season, the Brewers added Shackelford to their 40-man roster. He was designated for assignment on July 17, 2014, to make room for Irving Falu.

    In 2014, Shackelford pitched for the Brevard County Manatees of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League and the Huntsville Stars of the Class AA Southern League. After the completion of the minor league season, the Brewers sent Shackelford and Barrett Astin to the Reds to complete their August trade for Jonathan Broxton. During the 2016 offseason, Shackelford signed a new minor league contract with the Reds.

    Stephenson attended Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. He was committed to Georgia Tech to play college baseball.

    Stephenson was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds as the 11th pick in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft. He has been compared to Matt Wieters. The Reds signed Stephenson and assigned him to the Billings Mustangs of the Rookie-level Pioneer League.

    Wyatt Strahan

    Wyatt James Strahan (born April 18, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Wyatt was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 27th round of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft from Villa Park High School. Instead of heading to the majors, Wyatt chose to attend the University of Southern California.

    Wyatt was subsequently drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 3rd round of the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft from the University of Southern California. He made his professional debut in 2014 with the Billings Mustangs where he posted a 2.76 ERA in 42.1 innings pitched. In 2015, he was promoted to the Dayton Dragons where he posted an ERA of 2.79 in 164.1 innings. Wyatt returns to the Reds Organization this year to play with the Daytona Tortugas.

    Taylor Trammell

    Taylor Walter-Lee Trammell (born September 13, 1997) is an American baseball outfielder in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Trammell attended Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. He played both baseball and football. Trammell played in the Under Armour All American Game in August 2015.

    Trammell was considered a top prospect for the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft. He was picked by the Cincinnati Reds as the 35th overall pick.

    Nick Travieso

    Nicholas D. Travieso (born January 31, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Travieso was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft out of Archbishop McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches, Florida. He made his professional debut that season for the Arizona League Reds. He played 2013 for the Dayton Dragons and returned there to start the 2014 season.

    The Reds added Travieso to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.

    Chad Arthur Wallach (born November 4, 1991) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Wallach played college baseball at Cal State Fullerton.

    Wallach was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the fifth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft.

    On December 11, 2014, Wallach along with Anthony DeSclafani were traded from the Marlins to the Cincinnati Reds for Matt Latos.

    His father, Tim Wallach, played in Major League Baseball.

    Zachary D. Weiss (born June 16, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Weiss was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 10th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft out of Northwood High School in Irvine, California. He did not sign and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to play college baseball. He was then drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the sixth round of the 2013 MLB Draft. He signed with the Reds and made his professional debut with the Arizona League Reds and also played for the Billings Mustangs that year. Weiss spent 2014 with the Dayton Dragons and 2015 with Daytona Tortugas and Pensacola Blue Wahoos. He had a Pensacola record 25 saves and 30 saves in total between the two teams. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League.

  • Max Wotell

    Maximilian John Wotell (born September 13, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds organization.

    Wotell attended Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw, North Carolina. In his senior year, The Charlotte Observer named him their high school baseball player of the year. In May 2015, Wotell was named the 2015 North Carolina Gatorade Player of the year.

    The New York Mets selected Wotell in the third round of the 2015 MLB draft. Wotell was signed for an above slot value of $775,000.00. Wotell spent 2015 with the GCL Mets where he posted a 2.53 ERA, with 16 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched. Wotell began 2016 with Kingsport Mets. On August 1, 2016, the Mets traded Wotell and Dilson Herrera to the Cincinnati Reds for Jay Bruce. Wotell joined the Billings Mustangs, and in 35.2 innings pitched combined with the Mustangs and Mets, Wotell posted a 5.80 ERA.
