Cidewalk is a self-serve advertising platform. It was spun off from parent company and advertising network Chitika in 2015. It is a free to download Mobile application providing small businesses and entrepreneurs an easy access to Mobile advertising by abstracting all the complexity hidden inside the existing ad world. The main aim is to revolutionize mobile advertisements using Big data and Geo targeting. Ultimately, CideWalk is trying to fill the void between a local business and the relevant customers which is ignored by the main giants in the online advertising industry.

History
Cidewalk was founded in 2014 at Chitika's Westborough, Massachusetts headquarters. In 2015, Cidewalk spun off from Chitika and opened its own office in the neighboring town of Southborough, Massachusetts. Chitika invested $4 million to fund the spinoff.
Significance
As of its launch in August 2014, Cidewalk was the first Mobile marketing company to allow small business owners and advertisers the ability to purchase mobile impressions through Real-time bidding engines at an affordable cost. The company calls this process "democratizing mobile marketing." By leveraging Chitika's RTB platform and its sophisticated targeting and bidding engine, Cidewalk puts smaller business owners on the same mobile playing field as big-budgeted, large brands.

CideWalk also offers a community partner program which will deliver values and cutting edge technologies to the partners network. The program provides features like free advertising opportunities, access to exclusive educational resources and revenue through referrals.
