Ciara Elizabeth Smyth (born July 16, 1987) is an Irish actress, playwright, and director.

Early life

Smyth was born in Dublin, grew up in Killiney and has one younger brother, who lives in Paris. She studied Performing Arts in Bray Institute of Further Education before moving on to graduate with a B.A (Hons) in Drama from Dublin Institute of Technology in Rathmines in 2013.

Career

In 2013, Smyth made her professional acting debut in the children's programme RTÉjr's, Pic-a-Story.

She has since appeared in several television series and short films including, LIVE, The Guru (Portal Films) & Radha (Black Ostrich Entertainment) which won Best Short Film in The Shiver International Film Festival in Canada in 2016.

She recently appeared in RTÉ's 16 Letters which was made to commemorate the centenary 1916 Easter Rising.

Writing

In addition to acting, Smyth is a playwright. Her first play Pour it out. was staged in Smock Alley Theatre as part of the Collaborations Festival 2015. Her work includes the plays, Pour it out., TRIANGLES and All honey.
