The church was founded on February 4, 2001 by Pastor Chris Hodges and a core group of 34 people. The church has opened many campuses around Birmingham, Alabama. In 2016, the church had 42,000 members.

Campus Locations

Church of the Highlands simulcasts the sermon portion of the service from the Grants Mill campus to its other campuses via video feed. Each campus has its own pastor, worship experience, small group gatherings and ministry opportunities.
