Overview
In 2008 the airport reopened after nine years of closure. The airport now serves as the gateway to the islands of the Gulf of Thailand.
Nok Air operates 2 flights per day to and from Chumphon Airport, Pathio District to Don Mueang International Airport DMK.
Airport agents offer land connections by Lomprayah to Chumphon Pier and onto Ko Samui, Ko Tao, Ko Phangan via high speed ferry.
The terminal has a coffee shop, gift shop and transfer services.
Major Airport Expansion
April 15, 2015 the Department of Civil Aviation ( DCA) announced at a public meeting in Chumphon the expansion of the airport. The first stage is a 2500 million baht runway expansion, hangar, flight training school and terminal expansion to cater for wide bodied aircraft and international passengers. The second stage of a further 2500 million baht includes a 200-bed hotel, marina and seaplane terminal.
