Christopher Dean "Chris" Myers is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. In 1998, Myers won a Caldecott Honor for his illustrations in Harlem. The following year, he wrote and illustrated Black Cat, a book that received a Coretta Scott King Award (2000). In addition to writing and illustrating his own stories, Myers often illustrates books written by his father Walter Dean Myers. Some of Christopher's books feature lies and tall tales.

Myers was born in Queens, New York City. He was raised by his father Walter Dean Myers, writer of many books,including Harlem and Monster.
