Life and career

Christopher Clinton Conway launched his career assisting Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter pursue a global health agenda at the Carter Center of Emory University, and has built his practice as a fundraiser and legal advisor across healthcare, international development and cultural non-profits. Immediate past President & Executive Director of The Joffrey Ballet, Conway also held key development positions at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and today works with the Doheny Eye Institute in forging a new strategic partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Conway is the founder and principal of Philanthropic Counsel, LLC, with offices in Los Angeles and Paris, France. He is oft-quoted on questions of tax and complex gifts, most recently featured on Bloomberg Television and in publications including The Wall Street Journal, W Magazine, Town and Country Magazine, International Herald Tribune, and the Pasadena Outlook.
