Chrislan, of birth name Chris Landry Maneng’s was born in Douala, Cameroon. He is known for his hit Song “Treasure”, for organizing the first black film festival in Scandinavia, and for helping DIY musicians to professionally launch their music career. In 2007 he was one of the most successful pop/soul Singer in Nollywood. Chris Landry won the “Best soul Record” at the Sound City Video music Awards 2010 and was nominated for South African Music Awards, Channel O Music Awards 2010 and NRJ Teens Awards. Chrislan is a contributor of the entertainment industry; he is the founder of the Talent Management and production company “Elite Entertainment”. In 2013 chrislan spoke at the 50th anniversary celebration of the African Union on how the movie and entertainment industry could be used to boost nations economy.

Early life

Chrislan was born in Douala, Cameroon. Son of Engineer Emmanuel Manengs and Smith Manengs Emilienne. He is from the Banen ethnic group in the Littoral part of Cameroon. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication from Mulhouse University in France before completing a master degree in Public relation from the London School of contemporary Arts. After the release of his single “Treasure”, that he released as an independent, chrislan then signed a record deal with a USA production company with whom the collaboration didn’t stay too long. He later signed with a USA production company and then left to France Where he followed up his music career alongside his Engineering degree in Telecommunications Management at University of Mulhouse France.

Career

In 2010, Chrislan gave an Exclusive interview to the international Urban Music Channel Trace TV where he disclosed everything concerning his private life, his song Treasure, and his motivations.

Chrislan hosted the show “Late Night with Doctor Love” on Radio Alsace and later hosted an adaptation of the same show “DR LOVE SHOW” on JUJU radio, a radio station located in the Danish capital.

In 2012, Chrislan became partner at Elite Management. In Late 2013 alongside his partners Chrislan organized the first black film Festival in Europe “The Afrowood Film Festival” that received representation from about 26 Afro-Caribbean countries. The festival received participants from the “Black Hollywood” represented by Tanya Kersey founder and executive director of the Hollywood black film festival, FESPACO, Nigeria Film Industry Nollywood, the Ghanaian Film industry, Cuba, the Ivorian film industry, the Caribbean and many more. On that same year Chrislan was invited as guess speaker at the 50th anniversary celebration of Africa Union where he spoke to an audience of diplomats on how the movie and entertainment industry could be used to boost nations economy.

In 2014 Chrislan became the manager and co-producer of the collection series of animation movies “Tales of Africa” a production by Dynamic art vision which pilot episode won best pictures in Chrislan’ festival back in 2013. Chrislan equally started managing movie and music talents from UK. USA and Scandinavia under Elite Management and in early 2015 he merged Elite management with other companies such as Elite Events, Elite Academy, and Elite Films to become Elite Entertainment.

In late 2015 chrislan launched a program for newbie artists who would like to launch their professional music career. The program aims at selecting 25 struggling music artists who are then trained by industry veterans during a period of 4 weeks at the end of which they come out with the tools needed to launch and sustain their music career as DIY musician and singers.

During his time as a Recording artist, Chrislan sang many studio songs for the movie industry such including True love, My Dreams, True story, New Day etc. He has been featured in movies such as Life on campus, Network, Stars Crew etc.
