History
Choa Chu Kang used to have a roadside bus terminal along Choa Chu Kang Way. It was later replaced by a bus interchange built beside the MRT Station. Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange opened in 1990 and remains operational today with little modifications.
Previously operated by Singapore Bus Service (SBS), Choa Chu Kang was progressively handed over to Trans-Island Bus Service (TIBS) in late 1999 in exchange for services and operations in Sengkang and Punggol. The handover took place in the following phases:
Service 175 is now present day Service 975 and operates out of Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange, now Bukit Panjang Temporary Bus Terminal, and passes by the bus stop opposite of Lot One. Service 185 was merged with 989 and amended to the present-day 985.
Feeders 300, 301, 302 and 303 used to serve the interchange. 301 and 303 were merged to form Townlink 307 (now Intratown 307).
BSEP Feeder Enhancements
On 25 April 2015, Feeder 301 was reintroduced and rerouted under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) plying along Choa Chu Kang Way, Choa Chu Kang Avenue 2 and Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3, together with the introduction of Trunk Service 983 plying through Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5 via Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4. Feeder 300 was then amended to skip Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5.
On 15 May 2016, Feeder 308 was introduced under Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) plying through Choa Chu Kang Avenue 7, Choa Chu Kang Grove and Keat Hong Link.
Bus Contracting Model
All bus routes operating out of Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange are part of the Choa Chu Kang – Bukit Panjang bus package with the exception of 925 under Woodlands bus package.
