Chinggoy Alonzo (born Ramon Alonzo) is a Filipino actor in theater, movies, and television in the Philippines. He was nominated for FAMAS Award Best Supporting Actor in Ikaw Naman Ang Iiyak (1996). His son Ralion Alonzo is also a Filipino actor now working in Hongkong Disneyland playing multiple role in Disney Revue and lead actor in Mulan, and his son Shark Alonzo, a stage actor who played as Troy Bolton in High School Musical (2006) at Ateneo's Gonzaga Fine Arts Building.

Career

He has been active in the theater since the 1960s as an actor and stage director, including work with repertory group The Company of Players.

He appeared in movies like Dito Sa Pitong Gatang (1992) starring Fernando Poe, Jr., Nanette Medved, Sana Pag-ibig Na (1998) which he played as respected professor, husband of Nida Blanca and father of Gerald Madrid, with Angel Aquino, Linlang (1999) starring Pops Fernandez, Richard Gomez, Joyce Jimenez. He played as Don Ramon, the father of Dingdong Dantes in the television series Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga (2002) starring Tanya Garcia. He played the father of Iza Calzado in GMA Films Moments Of Love. Recently, he played as the role of Hernando in GMA Network's prime time historical epic series Indio which stars Bong Revilla.
