Description

On average, the length of the bird is 30–34 cm (12–13 in) and it weighs 280–400 g (9.9–14.1 oz). Females are slightly smaller than males.
Distribution and habitat

This species is found in Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Introduced to Mauritius, the Philippines, Madagascar, United States, Chile and Argentina. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
