China–Kyrgyzstan border

The border between China and Kyrgyzstan is the line that limits the territories of China and Kyrgyzstan 858 kilometres (533 mi). From southwest to northeast, this boundary begins in the triple border of both countries with Tajikistan and ends at the same point with Kazakhstan . The border is a mountain range named Tian Shan.

China and Kyrgyzstan demarcated their border in 1996.

Border crossings

Present day, there are two traversable pass: Torugart Pass and Erkeshtam. Both are vehicle accessible.

Both of the present day crossings have been used during antiquity. In addition, historically Bedel Pass further east along the Tian Shan mountains has also been used.
