Chicago Fashioned 1800 to 1930 Published on the Occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of Mandel Brothers 1855....1930

Fashion and Historical material by Helmut Schmidt, Costumer... Plates by Louis Grell

An expression of appreciation is offered the Chicago Historical Society for assistance rendering in selecting the eleven women described herein from the exhibited collection of Famous Chicago Women.

The renderings by Grell are of prominent Chicago ladies from 1800 through 1930 and include: Archange Quilmette, Ann Whistler, Eleanor Kinzie, Eliza Chappell, Pamalie Calhoun, Nettie MaCormick, Mary Booth, Helen De Koven, Lady Patterson, Maria Werkmeister, Bertha Palmer, Gibson Girl. The continued development and corresponding skyline of Chicago is rendered into the background of each plate by Grell.
