ChaseLinx (now Arriva Sapphire) is the name given by Arriva Midlands to buses in the West Midlands and South Staffordshire areas of the Arriva Midlands North bus division.

Contents

The name is derived from the 2007 purchasing of Chase Coaches by Arriva.

History

In early 2007, Arriva Midlands North purchased an independent bus operator, Chase Coaches for a 'significant' sum of money. Despite being based in Cannock the majority of services operated by the company were in the Wolverhampton and Walsall areas and were operated by Leyland Nationals.

Shortly after the takeover and to minimise confusion a new ChaseLinx branding was introduced, not just to buses on the ex-Chase routes, but to all routes operating from the Cannock depot (where Chase Bus Service operations also moved to after the takeover).

During October 2014 Arriva purchased 12 new single decker buses. They are named sapphire and the single decker's are route branded specially for the 1, 2, 2A and 2E that run between Walsall and Cannock.

Depots

Services using ChaseLinx branding are only operated from the Arriva Midlands North, Cannock Delta Way garage. This was previously the Headquarters of the whole Arriva Midlands North operation which spans an area from Wrexham to Birmingham.
