Charles Armitt

Charles "Charlie" Armitt (birth registered January→March 1926 — 2004 (aged 77–78)) birth registered in Salford district, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s, and 1950s playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Swinton, Huddersfield, and Blackpool Borough as a Second-row, i.e. number 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.

Club career

Armitt moved from Swinton to Huddersfield in July 1953. A year later he transferred to Blackpool Borough.

Representative honours

Armitt won a cap for England while at Swinton in 1949 against Other Nationalities. He also played for Lancashire.

Genealogical information

Charles Armitt is the son of the rugby league footballer, Thomas Armitt.
