Charles L. Kuhn (1902-1985) was an American academic, art historian, and Director of Harvard University's Busch-Reisinger Museum.

Kuhn earned a PhD at Harvard in 1929.

Career

In 1930, Kuhn joined the Harvard faculty. In addition to teaching, he was named director of the Busch-Reisinger Museum, which was dedicated to the study and artworks of Germanic countries.

His academic career was interrupted by military service in the Second World War. At war's end, he returned to teach at Harvard.

World War II

Lieutenant Commander Charles Kuhn was activated from the United States Naval Reserve (USNR) during the Second World War. He was a Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives (MFAA) Officer.
