Charles Burkhart

Charles Burkhart is a retired musicologist, theorist, composer, and pianist. He is a scholar in Schenkerian analysis.

Burkhart was a student of Felix Salzer (it is implied at Queens College, where Burkhart is also listed among faculty). His M.A. thesis for Colorado college, written in 1952, concentrated on the musical culture of Old Order Amish and of Old Colony Mennonites.

Burkhart's compositions include some organ preludes and choruses he has composed and arranged.
