Tsandavolu or Chandolu is a small village situated in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Legends

It was a historical site and the capital of Velanati Chodas in the 12th century.

History

The village was the seat of Velanadu Chodas the most famous of whom was Rajendra Choda. It was a flourishing town during Choda times. It was also called as Dhanadapura or Tsandavolu. Many temples in the town of Chandolu were built during Eastern Chalukya, Choda and Kakatiya times.

Geography

It is located at 16°01′N 80°37′E and 29 ft above sea level. It is located 4.9m from Nidubrolu and 11.3m from Bhattiprolu. It is located 3m to Rambhotlavaripalem.

Transport

National Highway 214A passes through the village and the Ponnur–Repalle Road that connects the village with Ponnur intersects at the village.
