Chaetodon hoefleri, the Four-banded butterflyfish, is a species of butterflyfish native to the tropical eastern Atlantic. They are associated with rocky substrate or sandy/ muddy bottoms. Their main diet in the wild are bottom dwelling invertebrates. They are solitary or are in pairs when mating. They can grow up to 10 inches.

Care

Four banded butterflyfish require a minimum of a 50-gallon tank. They should be fed benthic invertebrate, and should be fed 3-4 times a day. The tank should have a rocky environment with lots of caves and other hiding places. They have a wide temperature range of 69 - 82 °F.
