Centrocones are sub-cellular structures involved in the cell division of apicomplexan parasites. They exist in close apposition to centrosomes. While little is known about these structures, in Toxoplasma gondii, the "membrane occupation and recognition nexus" repeat protein 1 (MORN1) (which is homologous to the human protein Morn repeat containing 1), is found in the centrocone, as well as other locations.
