Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) is Canada's national drug development and commercialization centre working in partnership with academia, industry, government and foundations. CDRD provides the specialized expertise and infrastructure to identify, validate and advance promising discoveries, and transform them into commercially viable investment opportunities for the private sector — and ultimately into new therapies for patients. Canada's Networks of Centres of Excellence Program has recognized CDRD as a Centre of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR).

Participating institutions
CDRD currently has an existing portfolio of 209 supported research projects generated from its network of 100+ affiliated research institutions. These institutions represent Canada's top health research universities and research centres, as well as select international partner organizations. Collectively, these affiliated institutions invest several billion dollars in health-related research every year, and CDRD plays a pivotal role in translating that research into commercial products and economic returns including new jobs for British Columbia and Canada.
