Contents

Its products are based on the software as a service (SaaS) model and sold by subscription, based on the size of the transport or warehousing company.

History

CartonCloud was founded by Vincent Fletcher and friend and co-founder friend Nic Comrie when they felt that traditional desktop transport software had become outdated and decided to create a modern cloud-based product whilst running their own 3PL company in Sydney called Roving Logistics. CartonCloud was officially formed in 2012 in Sydney Australia where it was trading under GlowSticks ltd which was Vincent Fletcher's first successful business selling glowsticks online and used that business to fully fund the development of CartonCloud. In 2015 after its soft launch to the market, CartonCloud relocated its offices to Burleigh Heads, Queensland.

Product

The key features of CartonCloud include automatic electronic manifest reading third party software generated manifests, automatic delivery run allocation based on postcodes and suburbs, machine learning allocation of drivers to delivery runs, sign-on-glass proof of delivery technology, customer login to place orders check POD, invoicing, cash on delivery function, 3PL functionality, multi-warehouse location, sales orders, purchase orders, Google map integration for optimised delivery route and standard business and management reporting. CartonCloud can automatically import manifests and sales orders.

All data is stored in the cloud allowing users to work in the same set of jobs regardless of location or operating system. In 2012, CartonCloud released the CartonCloud mobile apps for iOS and Android devices, allowing drivers to optimise their delivery route when out in the field and collect PODs.

Major competitors

The biggest transport competitor in Australia is WiseTech Global who recently floated on the ASX with a $1 billion market cap.

There are several other SaaS transport apps in the market that have been developed since 2010 and many of the traditional transport software companies have responded by launching SaaS versions of their software.
