In March 22, 2011, Aquino along with her team won an award for being the most-watched show in the entire Dominican Republic.

On May 2011 she was accused of accepting money from the Puerto Rican drug trafficker and convicted criminal, Jose Figueroa Agosto, for plastic surgery. She spoke on television declaring that she accepted the money, but did not have a relationship with Figueroa Agosto.
