Coaching career

Carlos Azenha started his career off at local club Vitória Setúbal as assistant manager from 2000 to 2002 under the management of Jorge Jesus. After the spell ended in 2002 he moved to different clubs across the world which include China's Changsha Ginde and Egyptian club Al-Ahly under the management of Portuguese legend Toni. After nearly a two-year spell across the world Carlos Azenha returned to his homeland to manage a brief spell with Boavista under the management of Jesualdo Ferreira. In 2006 after Jesualdo Ferreira left for FC Porto he went to manage FC Porto for two seasons as assistant manager. In May 2009, he signed a contract to become the new boss of league strugglers Vitória Setúbal to lead them out of danger from the relegation places.
