Medical marijuana (2010)

In 2010, Proposition 203, legalizing medical marijuana, was passed by voters, after passage of legally flawed initiatives in 1996 and 1998, and failure of a 2002 initiative.

Failed attempt (2016)

In 2016, Proposition 205 to legalize recreational cannabis appears as a legalization initiative on the November ballot. The measure failed, 47.8–52.2.
