Calosoma maderae is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily of Carabinae which is 25–35 millimetres (0.98–1.38 in) long. It was described by Fabricius in 1775 and is found in African countries such as Algeria, Canary Islands, Morocco, and Tunisia as well as Asian ones such as Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, and Kashmir. In Europe it is found in Croatia, France, Greece, Iran, Italy, Madeira, Russia, and Granada, Spain.

Distribution

In Algeria it is found in Batna, Boukhenifis, and Oran. In France it is known from Seine-et-Oise and Le Pecq while in Russia it is found in Astrakhan, Saint Petersburg and Saratov. It is also known from Bad Lauterberg, Germany, Craiova and Bârlad cities of Romania, Jarosław, Poland, Oslo, Norway, Nitra, Slovakia, and Öland, Sweden. The species is also found in Libya, Kuwait, and cities like Alag-Nur and Govi-Altai Province of Mongolia.

It is also native to Central Asia where it is found in Kazakhstani capital Astana as well as Tian Shan and Pskem Mountains. It is also native to Afghan-Tajikistan border where it is found in West Great Pamir as well as in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

In Middle East, it is known from Balochistan and Khuzestan Provinces of Iran and Damascus, Syria as well as Hermon and Carmel mountains of Israel.
