Cahangir Mammadli (born 1942) is an Azerbaijani journalist and film editor.

Life

Mammadli Cahangir Abdulali oglu was born in 1942 in Aghdam. In 1968 he graduated from Baku State University, Journalism faculty. Since that year he started to work as a teacher at the same faculty.

Cahangir Mammadli was the deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Press Council in 2003–2005. Since 2005 he is the chairman of "Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company" Broadcasting Council.

Today Cahangir Mammadli is the head of the department of theory and practice of journalism at Baku State University. He is Doctor of Philology Sciences, Professor.

Journalism activity

C. Mammadli is the author of 7 books on literary criticism and journalism. Up to now more than 500 scientific, publicistic writings were published.

    In 2004 Cahangir Mammadli was elected "Teacher of the Year" at Baku State University. In addition, he has several prestigious awards in journalism. He is presidential pensioner.
