Security team CSIRT.CZ is a national CSIRT (Cyber Security Response Team) team operated by CZ.NIC - operator of the .CZ top-level domain. CSIRT.CZ's main task is to handle security incidents in computer networks operated in the Czech Republic.

The establishment of CSIRT.CZ team
CSIRT.CZ was established by signing a memorandumwhich occurred on 16 December 2010 between the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and the CZ.NIC association. The .CZ domain administrator took over the agenda of the national security team from the academic association CESNET, which operated security team as part of a research grant since 2008. Memorandum with Ministry of Interior was replaced 1 October 2012 and new provision was made with the National Security Authority of the Czech Republic.
Tasks
The main task of the security team is to coordinate and solve security incidents in the Czech Republic. An important part of the team's work lies in educational activities in the field and provision of information on the latest threats. CSIRT.CZ also participates in educational activities designed for both the private and public sector. In addition CSIRT.CZ acts as a "point of contact" for reporting incidents that originate in Czech networks.
Rules
There are certain rules when reporting security incidents. CSIRT.CZ does not provide assistance associated with everyday use of home computers and the Internet. CSIRT.CZ is the last point of contact in case of an attack. Specific cases in which CSIRT.CZ provides necessary assistance are available on the team's website. Information about reported incidents passes CSIRT.CZ to persons responsible for the operation of the network or the source of the incident.
International cooperation
Since security incidents often go beyond national borders, international cooperation while solving security incidents and threats is inevitable. CSIRT.CZ actively collaborates with a global network of CSIRT / CERT teams. Security team participates in the preparation and implementation of solutions and recommendations on appropriate approaches in case of potential threats in cyberspace on European and global level.
