History

C.R.C. Madrid was formed as rugby department of Real Canoe Natación Club in 1963. The current club was formed in 2005 and play with blue, yellow and white colours.

  • Real Madrid have been linked to a plan to sponsor C.R.C., with a view to an eventual takeover of the club. Initially C.R.C. will be sponsored by realmadrid.com and wear the website's logo on their shirts, but it is believed that within two years the first team will be part of Real Madrid's sporting network. No deal has been signed but the two parties are in advanced negotiations.[1]

    As a multisport club, Real Madrid had a rugby section until the 1930s. Memorabilia, including photos, of the former rugby team is featured at the Real Madrid Museum in Madrid.

    From 2012–13 season, it's sponsored by Atlético Madrid as a triple sponsor between CRC, Santa Monica Sports an Club Atlético Madrid.
