On December 20, 2007 CDNetworks raises $96.5 million from Oak Investment Partners, Shinhan Private Equity and Goldman Sachs International.
On February 25, 2009 CDNetworks acquires Panther Express.
On October 21, 2011 Japanese Telco KDDI buys Content Delivery Network CDNetworks for $167 million.
Initiatives
CDNetworks participates with OpenDNS, Google Public DNS, and other CDNs in an open initiative called "The Global Internet Speedup" to improve the Internet for users around the world.. This collaboration is being done through an open IETF proposed standard called "edns-client-subnet" which helps better direct content to users thereby decreasing latency, decreasing congestion, increasing transfer speeds and helping the Internet to scale faster and further.
