Dr C. Venkata S. Ram is an Indian medical doctor and Hypertension specialist. The Government of India honored him by awarding Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his contributions to the field of medicine in the year 2013.

Biography
C. Venkata S. Ram was born in Machilipatnam, a city and the district headquarters of Krishna district, located in Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed his matriculation from St Paul's High School, Hyderabad, attended Nizam College and Osmania Medical College before moving to US in 1970s to pursue higher medical training at Brown University and University of Pennsylvania.
At present, Dr Ram lives and works in Hyderabad while maintaining close working relationships with his former institutions and affiliations in U.S.A.
He is married to Asha and they have two daughters – Gita and Radha.
Career
Ram has served as the faculty of University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and affiliated hospitals in Dallas, USA, for nearly 3 decades. He also headed the Texas Blood Pressure Institute in Dallas prior to returning to India in October, 2011. He is an active member of various associations like Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Association, American Heart Association, American Association of Advancement of Science and American Society of Hypertension. He served as the president of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin during the during 1995-1996.
From 2011 to 2013, he served as the president and Chief Executive Officer of MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences and MediCiti hospitals in Hyderabad. Under his guidance, the MediCiti Hospitals and MIMS reached the next level of academic and clinical excellence. Presently, he is the Director of Apollo Institute for Blood Pressure Management and Apollo Blood Pressure Clinics, Hyderabad.
