Film, television, radio and other adaptations that have been made of Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay's series of detective novels featuring the character Byomkesh Bakshi. Till date Rajit Kapur is the most well known actor as the classic Byomkesh Bakshi aka Satyanweshi. Rajit Kapur played the role of famous Bengali detective Byomkesh Bakshi in early 90's. Basu Chatterjee directed his TV show based on these detective stories of Byomkesh, where Rajit Kapur played the lead role. K. K. Raina played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi's assistant Ajit Bandopadhyaya and Sukanya Kulkarni played the role of Satyavati, Byomkesh's wife. The show was very popular and Rajit Kapur achieved his first media recognition through this show.

  • Sushant Singh Rajput and Anand Tiwari reprised their roles from Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! in a 2015 episode of the long ruunning Indian TV Series C.I.D. to promote the films.
  • Actor Abir Chatterjee and Ritwick Chakraborty promoted the film Byomkesh Pawrbo in a daily soap Goyenda Ginni in Zee Bangla, as Byomkesh and Ajit respectively.

    The Sunday Suspense series of 98.3 Radio Mirchi (Kolkata) adapted total seven novels of Byomkesh Bakshi for audio stories which include Satyanweshi, Makorshar Rosh, Agnibaan, Roktomukhi Neela, Khunji Khunji Nari, Adwitiyo and Lohar Biscuit, performed by Mir Afsar Ali and Deep.

    A hidden objects game for mobile devices called Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!: The Game was released by Games2win in 2015.
