Gameplay

The game consists of multiple planets that the player races through to beat the villain to the end of the level. Depending on how much faster the player gets to the end, the boss is easier. If the player reaches the end before the villain, Buzz's partner Mira appears and makes the fight easier. During the fight, the boss has a shield indicating which weapon to use on them.
Reception

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command has received very mixed reviews, with main criticism towards the game's lack of originality. GameRankings and Metacritic gave it a score of 65% and 54 out of 100 for the PlayStation version; 57% and 55 out of 100 for the Dreamcast version; and 52% for the Game Boy Color version.
