Business Report Thailand is a monthly English language business, politics and current affairs publication in Bangkok, Thailand, launched in October 2010.

Contents

Business Report Thailand has a similar size and design to news weeklies such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Newsweek and The Economist. Editorially its content is most similar to The Economist with an emphasis on in-depth analysis presented in a uniform house style with journalists’ names remaining anonymous. The magazine also regularly features opinion pieces by industry experts, special reports on key industrial sectors or trends and a centerpiece interview with a leading industry figure.

The magazine’s name derives from a brand extension of publisher Ensign Media’s real estate title Property Report South East Asia, published in Thailand since 2004, though the content and style are markedly different.

Features

The first two editions covered issues such as Thailand’s 3g debacle, Terrorism insurance, Potash politics, Chinese investment in Thai railways, Industry and community face off in Map Ta Phut, a Special Report on Thailand’s place in ASEAN, Thailand’s Baht – in the shadow of success, Polls improve Myanmar’s business prospects, Thailand’s digital and social media, Media censorship, Halal food and Thailand’s silent success and had interviews with Advisor to the Board of Trade, Smith Jingkaojai and Managing Director of Group ESP, Soonthorn Areerak.

Editor

The magazine is currently edited by Oliver Fall, a Bangkok-based British expatriate, experienced business journalist and resident in Thailand for seven years. Fall previously worked for Standard Chartered Bank Thai and in public affairs as the government liaison officer for the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, an international NGO, before editing the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand's magazine, The Brief.
