Burosh is an abstract strategy board game played with dice and a deck of playing cards that debuted at Gen Con in 2008.

Contents

Gameplay

The game is played by placing rolled dice on a hexagonal grid with the objective of having a higher sum of numbers showing on the board when it is filled than all opponents. Placing a die on the board affects the numbers on surrounding dice and in some situations leads to a "challenge". The challenge is resolved by comparing the poker hands of the opponents based on a 55-card deck, a standard poker deck with three wild cards.

History

The game was originally developed with a deck of Tarot cards but now uses a standard poker deck. The three wild cards retained their tarot card names.
