Geography

Burhar in Shahdol district is located near amarkantak, which is hill station and a center of many worship places of mainly the Hindu and Jain religions, at the border of MP and Chhattisgarh with about 80 km test drive from Burhar.

Burhar is known for its schools,a degree college & computer institutions. The N.P.G.college,affiliated to the Rewa University,provides courses for the students of BA,BSc,BCom,MA,MSc & MSW. The Govt. Excll. School is the oldest Govt. school followed by The Govt. Girls Higher Secondary school.

D.A.V Burhar, CCHSS Amlai, K.V. Dhanpuri and Gyan Niketan English Med.Hr. Sec. school, Bal Vikash higher secondary school are some notable schools.Green bells public School in Burhar, saraswati shishu mandir, balwadi samiti school.

There is a Jaitpur square at Burhar called jaitpur chauraha , A road which leads to jaitpur on the way there is a bhatiya temple which is very famous. On the way from Burhar to Jaitpur there are many villages mainly Channudi , Bahgarh and Kerha.
