The Bureau of Students’ Tutorial, Guidance / Counseling Services and Co-curricular Activities, commonly referred as the Bureau of STAGS (Sindhi: اِسٽيگ) is an institute of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. It deals with curricular and extra-curricular activities of the students at the University. The STAGS holds the responsibility to chalk out programs for the betterment, welfare & enhancement of knowledge for the students. The Bureau is to provide guidance and counseling to the students of the University of Sindh in solving their personal and academic problems and guide them in their career-planning in the light of their aptitudes and abilities.

The most important function of the Bureau is to conduct the events on several co-curricular activities, i.e. debate, declamation, speech and quiz competitions, science exhibitions, vocal category competitions, sports events and Student exchange program. Further it provides information & guidance to the students regarding employment opportunity assistance and job openings in the public and the private sector. Further STAGS also provides awareness on health and arranged blood donation camps.
History
The University of Sindh, Jamshoro is the second oldest university of Pakistan functioning in the public sector. When the university was started, a department by the name of Extra Mural Studies handled the co-curricular activities inside and outside the University. In 1990's, with the patronage of Ghullam Ali Allana, the then vice-chancellor of the University, a proposal was drafted to have a separate institute for co-curricular activities and career counseling of the students. On August 16, 1993, The Bureau of STAGS was established. Prof. Iqbal Ahmed Qureshi, Prof. Dr. Kazi Khadim Hussain along with Ms. Hanifa Kazi are attributed as founding fathers of this institute.
The Bureau of STAGS, participated in every national and regional level program after the establishment of a separate institute. University of Sindh sent a goodwill mission to Wagha border, Lahore in 1994. In 1995, Bureau of STAGS sent first all Pakistan Student Exchange delegation to Peshawar University. STAGS history witnesses the many participation and delegates to inter-universities across Pakistan
Purpose of establishment
The Bureau was established with the idea that there should be an institution at the University for the guidance and counseling of the students coming from different areas with different social and academic backgrounds. The Bureau also aimed to provide students a sound platform through which they could get a chance to exhibit their talent and explore their hidden abilities.
The Bureau provides information and Guidance to the students regarding job openings in the private and public sectors. The Bureau remains in touch with recruitment agencies and keeps students informed and updated about any job opportunities. The Bureau has always contributed for the welfare of the students, which has created confidence in them, through their participation in various competitive events.
The Bureau has so-far provided academic, personal and psychological guidance to many students, and continues to deliver its service to promote the academic standard and image of the University.
Regular events
The Bureau conducts regular events, such as Orientation Programs, Inter – Departmental Debates / Declamation Contests, Quiz, Essay, Naat, Qirat and Music Competitions, Cultural Tours and Inter Provincial Exchange of Students Delegations. Beside this, the Bureau also provides an opportunity to the deserving student to perform nationwide in All Pakistan events. The complete list of events is as under;
Sindh University Debating Society
It is subsidiary of the Bureau of STAGS, founded by the students of the University of Sindh. Debating society nurture the amateur speakers to exposes their hidden abilities. Society holds the weekly debating competitions in groups by either sides headed by Leader of the House and Opposition Leader. It was temporarily suspended from 2011 to 2012. Society appoints Chairman / President for the session among students.
STAGS Alumni
Informally, the students who have participated in the activities at the Bureau are called STAGIANs. The Bureau keeps the record of its members; it has not proper function of Alumni as it to be.
MEMOIR
The bi-annual magazine 'Memoir' covers the achievements of students. The Editorial Board of the Memoir comprises Officials and Students.
