Design

Design is based on contemporary German design where there is a balanced use of Wood and Leather, it exudes warmth yet maintaining a chic interior.

Several key design elements are featured across all their outlets, like the Glass bottle display, Oak cladded wall, bar, Biergarten, Mural walls to name a few.

The design and overall ambience is intended to create a comfortable place that one can feel relaxed and at home.

The Brotzeit Mural

The Mural commissioned by Brotzeit was designed by local creative collective "fFurious" to transmit the heritage and quality of German beer craftsmanship and its journey to Singapore and the joyful and fun social aspect of beer.

For centuries and in all cultures of the world drinking beer together has been an important social event. The Mural reflect the journey of the beer, made in Germany, represented by the "Frauenkirche" in Munich to a table of friends in Singapore under the proud Sir Stamford Raffles.

The animals are a funny interpretation of being happy together (party animals) enjoying beer and the typical Bavarian "Brezn". All animals in the work are animals living in Germany and they are wearing the traditional Bavarian dress that Bavarians wear especially during the Oktoberfest: Lederhosen, checkered shirt and the boots.

Throughout the mural we can follow the traditional beer brewing process: from the pure brewing water and the malt, wort, heating up, the development from starch to sugar, adding of yeast, resting ("lagering"), filtration until it is finally enjoyed as beer.

Food

Authentic Bavarian cuisine like Schweinshaxe or pork knuckles, Nürnberger sausages, can be found at all of the restaurants. In fact, food quality and variety is what makes Brotzeit distinct from other German Restaurants. A great deal of focus and effort went into the creation of the highest quality, and most authentic recipes for the Bavarian/Austrian cuisine. Some of the Food Highlights are:

  • Homemade Brezn (pretzels)
  • Brotzeit's own Proprietary Sausage Recipes for Käsekrainer, Hühnerwurst, Nürnberger, Weißwurst, Knoblauchwurst, Currywurst, and Bockwurst
  • Their Famous Selection of Platters
  • Wiener Schnitzel
  • Käsespätzle
  • Rotkraut
  • Kartoffelsalat
  • Serviettenknödel
  • Kaiserschmarren
  • Apfelstrudel
  • Kalbsrahmgulasch
  • The menu also includes more items.

    Beer

Beer (or Bier) served at Brotzeit are brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot a.k.a. German Beer Purity Law or Bavarian Purity Law which was passed in 1516. Most of the outlets serve Paulaner, Löwenbräu or Krombacher, imported directly from Germany. In some cases, other brands of Munich based Biers are also available such as Hofbräu which is available at the outlet in Saigon.

Typically however, most Brotzeit outlets carry a selection of four Paulaner or Löwenbräu draft Biers (Original Müncher Lager, Hefe Weißbier, Dunkel Hefe Weißbier, and Original Münchner Dunkel Lager), along with speciality Bavarian Bottled Biers. They also sell Weihenstephaner Alkoholfrei Original by the bottle.

Wine selection, consisting of mostly Austrian and German wines are also available.

    Celebrations

Oktoberfest is also celebrated at the restaurants annually.

Other festivals which are celebrated in the Bavaria region are also celebrated here, like Maifest and Easter.
