Brookville High School has been rated as "Excellent" since 2002 by the Ohio Department of Education. The school met all 12 of the state indicators for the 2005-2006 school year. However, for the 2007-2008 and the 2011-2012 school year, the school was rated " Excellent with Distinction", meeting 29 of the 30 state indicators. The only indicator that was not passed was 8th grade social studies, missing it by 13.3%. In 2015, The Brookville's High School football team went 10-0 in the regular season and 3-1 in the playoffs. They would lose to Coldwater.
