Acquisition history

In July 2014, Brightstar Corp. and Bharti Enterprises announced that they entered into a definitive agreement to bring the latest mobile technologies and services to the Indian market. As part of the agreement, a Brightstar subsidiary acquired a majority interest in Beetel Teletech Limited, a leading company in the distribution and sale of communication and media devices, enterprise and IT products in India.

In February 2014, Brightstar Corp. completed its acquisition of 20:20 Mobile, a leading provider of distribution and integrated supply chain to the European mobile industry. Brightstar acquired facilities in the UK, Spain, Hungary, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, and provide products and services across 13 European countries.

In October 2013, Japanese SoftBank paid $1.26 billion for a 57% stake in Brightstar. Over the next 5 years, or upon certain events, SoftBank's ownership will accrete to 70%.
