Brian Kasoro is a New York-based publisher known for editing and publishing The Last Generation of Black People (2012) and Good Speeches (2015) with The Liberator Magazine.

Personal life

Kasoro was born in Minneapolis on August 28, 1983. He graduated from Howard University in 2005 and studied at Columbia University.

Career

In college, Kasoro wrote for student publications The Hilltop (newspaper) and District Chronicles on topics such as the rape of women in the midst of the economic and humanitarian crises during the War in Darfur, the Congressional Black Caucus in the United States Congress, DanceAfrica, and Marcus Dixon. He founded The Liberator Magazine in 2002 between Minneapolis and Washington, DC, before moving to New York in 2006. In 2012, he founded the Africana Study Abroad Alliance to mentor Africana teens in publishing and promote high school study abroad in the African diaspora.
