In 2003, Bread & Butter ventured into franchising and expanded to nearby towns and key cities. This rapid expansion has catapulted Bread & Butter to national recognition.
Bread & Butter is supplied by Filbake Food Corp., biggest commissary in Northern Panay Island producing and distributing fresh bakery and other food products all over Western Visayas and Southern Luzon.

History
In 1986, Guidon dela Cruz founded Bread & Butter in their small house in the town of Kalibo. Together with his wife, they began their small business selling and delivering freshly baked pandesal, a Filipino breakfast staple, to neighbours and friends. The positive response and growing demand for Bread & Butter prompted the founder to open its first bakeshop - Bread & Butter Capitol - in Kalibo.
Seeing vast opportunities for bakery products, the couple opened more stores throughout Aklan. This led to the operation of the first and biggest commissary in Northern Panay Island in 1994 - Filbake Food Corporation.
Word of mouth was primarily responsible for the brand’s popularity but the company further its “Your Family Bakeshop for Seasons” theme through opening more stores throughout the province of Aklan.
Bread & Butter opened its doors to franchising in 2003 with the very first franchised bakeshop in Roxas Ave. Ext., Kalibo, Aklan. Since then, it has quadrupled its distribution and received numerous national recognitions for its bakeshop system. It was awarded as Fastest Growing Franchise, Most Promising Franchise, Best in Franchise Support and Best Homegrown Franchise by the Entrepreneur Magazine Philippines.
