Branko D. Kovačević (born 29 June 1951 Belgrade, Yugoslavia) is a Serbian academic. From 2006 to 2012 he served as the Rector of the University of Belgrade.

He received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1975, 1980, and 1984, respectively. He is currently a full professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, teaching courses in control systems theory and its applications.
