In 2015 he appeared to mistakenly assume that the British soap opera EastEnders was a reality television show like The Real Housewives of Atlanta'. Long questioned why the police were not called when fictional character Lucy Beale was murdered during the show and claimed it may have been a "press cover-up".

In 2015 Long claimed credit for the controversial "the dress" photo, an example of differences in human colour perception. Claiming to reveal all in a viral Twitter statement, Long wrote, "Scientists have proven that when there is a big event in your life that is having a negative effect on you, your sighting of colours may vary and that is why some people are seeing black and blue."

In the same year ITV News reported that Long was behind a marriage proposal televised live. Producers of the television soap Coronation Street allowed one social media user to have their own personal message written on a blackboard in the fictional Rovers Return pub during a live episode. The chosen message read, "Katie Lowe will you marry me?" After viewers congratulated the anonymous couple, Long wrote on Twitter that it was a prank on his brother and his brother's girlfriend. He claimed that the prank caused the pair to break up.

In 2016 Long created the #SaveTwitter hashtag that trended widely on the social media website Twitter. He claimed that legal action over hate messages he received on the website were leading to its closure in 2017 to stop the cyberbullying. In an emailed response to a Reuters request for comment, a spokesman for the website wrote, "there is absolutely no truth to the claims whatsoever"

Brad revealed that he wanted to create a bootcamp for fans of artists such as One Direction, Fifth Harmony, and Little Mix as he believed their fans were 'rude' and 'brainwashed'. He created the hashtag #TwitterBootcampForFandoms which went on to trend worldwide. The Vamps guitarist Connor Ball responded to the post, 'You've got big plans my friend. #BradForPresident.'

Relationship with Justin Bieber

Over the years Brad has defended pop-star Justin Bieber when the 'baby' singer caused controversy. In 2014 when Bieber was supposedly pictured sucking on a strippers' breasts, Brad came to his defense and tweeted, "I was there with Justin that night...that stripper was there but Justin was NEVER in that pic."

Later that year it was believed that the pair were in Panama after Bieber was arrested for DUI. Brad confirmed that Justin was 'a great guy, completely screwed over by the media".

Brad made a video titled, "TMZ stop bullying Justn Bieber" where he claimed that the website was bullying him.

Celebrity Feuds

In 2016 Brad and English singer Lily Allen got into a Twitter row. Brad insisted, "the reason my career is going upwards and yours is going the other way is because you are rude and arrogant!". In response, Allen hit back, "ok Brad The Lad see you in the charts!". Seemingly ending the lengthy fight Brad said, "unfortunately for you, time machines aren't invented yet so we can't go back to when you were relevant".

Zara Larsson is another singer that clashed with Brad. After having previous run-ins about Larsson's language online, Brad tweeted, "you are meant to be a role model. Grow up and at least PRETEND you have class." Zara ranted, "Motherf***ing tired of these ugly ass men always tryna tell young women what to do and not." Brad later took to Twitter to 'confirm the tweet had NOTHING to do with her gender.'

Brad clashed with Vine star Hayes Grier. Most of the tweets have seemingly been deleted however Hayes has kept one tweet calling Brad a 'dead ass' Brad wrote, 'oh shut the hell up Hayes. You can not bad mouth anyone. You're famous for having a brother who is famous for having blue eyes.'
